Rafting on Chilkat
River
Enjoy a scenic float down the Chilkat River through the famous Chilkat Bald Eagle Preserve, home of the world's largest concentration of Bald Eagles. Be immersed in the Alaskan wilderness, floating the silent river. There are no rapids (white water) on the river, so, it makes for a very relaxing float. Depending on the flow of the river, the rafting lasts about 1 1/2 hours.
Black Bear Watching in Kechikan
In Kechikan, you’ll be watching for wild bears in search of spawning salmon and ample berries.You’ll be surrounded by magnificent stands of spruce, hemlock and cedar trees. You will walk on safe, protected raised boardwalks, and you can expect to have an intimate viewing experience. To reduce environmental impacts, only a limited number of groups have access to this private bear viewing area.
